Happy October Indie Janeites!  This month we will be celebrating Austen’s classic Northanger Abbey!  The book club will be reading NA starting this week with chapters 1-8.  Questions for these chapters will be posted on our boards next Sunday.  Head on over there now and let us know what you’re looking forward to about NA?  Is this your first time reading it?  Are you a Tilney-fanatic?  Or do you fall somewhere in the middle?  Make sure to join us for all the Northanger Abbey fun!

It’s the perfect October book. I’m debating reading versus listening… hard to find time to read, but you lose some of the atmospheric stuff if you listen.

  5. Liz Onstead says:

    I’m in!

I’ve got an audiobook and the book itself on hold so I can see if I like one better than the other. In fact, the book is sitting on the holds shelf at TC right now xD I’ll probably pick it up at some point tomorrow…

  6. i’ve dnldd my copy – glad to hear it’s quick + FuN!

  7. Love NA! The ending w/ (no spoilers) the description of the perfect man may be my favorite meta description of all. EVAH.

Awesome! I’m going to try and join in (in the reading if I can’t be online to discuss it at least) and I’ll also blog about this so some of my readers can join :D

  9. And when you’re done reading Northanger Abbey, I do hope you try next my amusing romantic parody Northanger Abbey and Angels and Dragons (part of my Supernatural Jane Austen Series) which happens to be a very appropriate and fun read… just in time for Halloween! :-)

  10. Jillian says:

Oh! I might join in later in the month. I’m reading The Mysteries of Udolpho right now, and was going to read Northanger Abbey after. :-)

  11. [...] might join in for some of the discussion of Northanger Abbey later in October, at Indie Jane where I discovered yesterday a  Northanger Abbey Readalong is happening! I won’t be there [...]
